The Peneda Geres National Park is only accessible by car on the edge. The rugged area has provided protection for the Garranos, as the wild horses are called, for over 10,000 years. They can be found up to 1500 meters high and we met them several times. So they don't seem to be that rare. But it is definitely a great experience.
