Thanks to this wooden bridge you can easily cross the stream. Even the sheep use this bridge.

Such a perfect spot. They've resurfaced the route over to Llyn Crafnant and it's now a largely smooth gravel track.

This is a serene lake located in the Conwy Valley surrounded by forested hills and the rugged landscape of Snowdonia. There's a cafe and fishery further south along the lake which is a lovely place to stop and refuel.

One of my favourite go to places when I come home to Wales. It really does have so much to offer.

Well worth waiting for a misty day, the light here across the lake was amazing, a real treat. There is also a bench so you can sit and watch the world go by

A very peaceful section of quite a tough hike. The weather was horrific, a few slips and falls along the way. All good fun though. Worth it as the views from on top of crimpau are stunning.

Cafe only open Thursday to Sunday, access road very narrow, oncoming agricultural vehicles must be expected.

Go through the tunnel, mind your head, don't be scared. you'll come out in to a small quarry in the side of the rock with old collapsed out buildings. such a weird little find.

A quick hunched walk through a dark tunnel in the rock and you come across an old quarry in the side of the rock, with a few old fallen buildings inside. what a little gem of a find

A plaque on the shaft has an inscription both in Welsh and English, the later reads as follows: 'This monument was erected by Lord Willoughby d’Eresby circa 1850 to commemorate the reputed birthplace of Taliesin Chief Bard of the 6th century on the shore of Llyn Geirionydd. The arwest of Gwilym Cowlyd known as Arwest Glan Geirionydd, was held on the shores of Llyn Geirionydd with fellow poets Trebor Mai and Gethin Jones ("Gethin") because he thought the National Eisteddfod was too English. He composed the ode "Mynydddoed Eryri" and a number of other poems which were published by his own press in the volume Y Murmuron in 1868. He was buried in the churchyard of Saint Mary's Church, Llanrwst. The column was destroyed in a 1976 storm and re-erected in 1994.

Amazing views of Carneddau mountain range.

During summer time it is very busy with paddleboarders and boaty types. if that's your thing you'll love it. if not, you may have to move around the lake to a quieter section. been here many times over the years, and it never fails to make me smile.

An easy walking path. Quite a few midgies around the area. be prepared to spit a few out. lol
