Excellent route that starts with 'Sinister Gully'! Hardest part is the down-climb into the notch.

A steep and relentless pull up from Ogwen Cottage to the gateway of the Carneddau. It offers staggering views across the Ogwen Valley to the Glyderau.

Good scramble over the top!

One of my favourite places in Eryri - the Castell y Gwynt (or Castle of the Winds in English). As you see it is a spikey outcrop on the edge of Glyder Fach, perched at the top of the cliffs on the northern side. It does get in the way if you are walking beween Glyder Fach and Glyder Fawr (seen in the distance on the right here, Yr Wyddfa is on the left), but it is good sport scrambling right over the top. It is bigger and steeper than it looks.

You can't miss these two huge stones right on the summit of Tryfan. Traditionally climbers would jump from one to the other to gain the freedom of the mountain. But be warned people have died in the attempt.

Spectacular rock architecture on an exciting scramble up Glyder Fach

In bad weather you can skip Bristly Ridge and head down the adjacent scree slope to the right.

Beautiful jagged rock formation that is just one more epic photo location on this great mountain. If you get the light right these rocky teeth make for a great photo.

Here you will reach a path of the route to the Glyder Fawr Summit. Please be aware that this section is all Very Loose Scree bit of a scramble to the top appropriate footwear is essential.

The 7th highest mountain in the National Park, and the southern-most of the Caerneddau Range. At 978-metres high, it is the same height as England's highest peak, Scafell Pike. There are multiple different approaches to the summit, from steep and direct routes, to mellow ridge walks. From the summit, you'll get fantastic views out to the North Wales coastline, as well as great views across the Ogwen Valley, and Llyn Idwal.

Spectacular, one of the best sections of scrambling you can find. Had to use my bouldering experience at times and it can feel precarious at points.

Tryfan is one of the most iconic mountains in the UK, certainly in Wales. It just looks like a mountain from every direction, without a single easy approach available! At 917m high, it’s just one of the main 15 Peaks, and when recently re-measured it was feared it would lose that status. Thankfully, they discovered it was slightly higher than first thought. The summit of Tryfan is dominated by the twin obelisks of Adam and Eve, with the perilous leap from one to the other granting the ‘freedom of Tryfan’ .

Tryfan North Ridge is one of the finest scrambling routes in Wales, and when combined with Bristly Ridge offers a fantastic day out.Officially a Grade 1, but moves can be taken to suit any Grade along the route, keeping everyone entertained!

Situated near the summit of Glyder Fach is the Cantilever Stone, a large rock which from the correct angle appears to be precariously balanced, making it a popular place for photographs.

Quite busy for photos but great opportunity when the skies are blue, the rock you climb on to reach the stone is quite slippy

The other location is not accurate and during low visibility it can be difficult to find so the correct location has now been added.

The stone is not in this exact location as on komoot! It is further up the path. I've added a new highlight on the map with the actual exact location. It can be quite hard to navigate in low visibility.
