A few steps further rises its big sister, a stately stone bridge of impressive normal size. Both bridges are made of solid stone and bear witness to the masterful architecture of bygone times. The cool forest that surrounds the bridges offers protection from the midday sun and envelops the hiker in quiet greenery. Moneypenny's Lock is situated on the Newry Canal just outside of Portadown. The lockhouse has been transformed into a canal museum where you can learn about the history of the lock from between the early 1800s to the mid 20th-century, when it was ran by the Money family.
