The top of Scotland's 10th highest Munro. It is no mean feat getting your bike to the top. Expert MTB skills are required for the descent to the Bealach. If it goes wrong the consequences are high, make sensible decisions and walk you bike if you are unsure.

The route visits the munro Meall Nan Tarmachan first before the ridge, so it is possible to just visit the munro and return via the same route, making the route approx 2-3hrs long at just 5 miles :-)

From here, various hiking options open up: you can choose to climb Ben Lawers as a standalone goal, or take on the challenge and plan a ridge crossing that can cover up to seven Munros in a day. Views from the top extend well beyond Loch Tay and, on clear days, include much of the Southern Highlands. For those who prefer a less demanding route, the route from Ben Lawers car park offers a relatively easy way to reach this impressive peak. The walk offers spectacular views and is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the majestic beauty of the Scottish mountains. Regardless of the route chosen, hikers should always keep an eye on weather conditions and prepare appropriately. Good footwear, waterproof clothing and navigation aids are essential. It is equally important to respect local regulations for Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park and treat nature with respect.

Super steep if you run from the visitor centre, it's easier from the road col above the lake. Makes a great loop with Meall a' Choire Lèith or more of the Ben Lawers Munros.

Meall a' Choire Lèith is a Munro standing at 926 m. It's not very distinct with a large flat ish summit, but it can be linked into an awesome round of the Ben Lawers Munros. Also good when you start your run in Glen Lyon.

Rising to 3,419 feet (1,042 m), this is the crowning high point of a group of four Munros above Glen Lyon, which are often referred to as the Càrn Mairg hills. It's a stupendous viewpoint for the Lawers Group on a clear day. Càrn Mairg's quartzite summit is flanked by two subsidiaries, the long plateau of Meall a Bhàrr to the west and Meall Liath to the east. The most common approach to the summit is as part of a long loop taking in all four Munros, starting from Invervar.

Meall nan Tarmachan, the Hill of the Ptarmigan, is the highest peak and only Munro on the Tarmachan Ridge. At 3,422 feet (1,044 m), it's not as high as nearby Ben Lawers but many hillwalkers prefer it for its rough, rocky and entertaining terrain. It's also very easily accessed from the high car park to the east.

The 10th-highest Munro at 3,983 feet (1,214 m) Ben Lawers offers plenty of enjoyable running. You can start at the high-level Ben Lawers car park and follow a fairly out and back route up though the nature reserve. This is mainly on good trails and, although steep and rocky in sections, is quite runnable. Alternatively, you can run a full traverse of the Munros on the ridge east of Ben Lawers, ending on the road near the Lawers Hotel.

The Ben Lawers car park to the west provides the easiest approach to this summit and Munro (parking charge). Spectacular views across Loch Tay. Hikers can return to the car park or continue along the ridge to bag a further 3 Munros allowing up to 5 or 7 Munros to be bagged in a day.
