Great stop for coffee and cake

Big climb from Aberfeldy nice and easy does it

Great ride between Killin and Kenmore. Road was good but a real rollercoaster! Very few flat areas but beautiful none the less. Also, stopped for a bowl of soup at the Ferryman, which was excellent.

Beautiful dramatic rock formations

On a practical note, it's one of the few bridges over the river in this area so it's likely a waypoint. That said, it's worth a pause to look upstream and downstream and take the obligatory photo. If you're naughty, there's a jail built into the bridge underneath.

Non-vehicular traffic these days. A very steep humpback bridge gives a good view of the river.

Quiet road with good surfaces. Undulating.

The east riverside path offers a splendid ride, predominantly on asphalt, and forms part of National Cycle Network (NCN) 77. Around Dunkeld House Hotel, the route is a shared space with vehicles. Between the hotel and Dunkeld, riders are treated to a choice between parallel paths: a slightly elevated gravel path and a lower, closer-to-the-river dirt path. Both options provide a very rideable experience. On the west riverside, there’s a dirt path that truly calls to MTB and gravel bike enthusiasts.

A nice little track along the Tay , really peaceful

There's an old prison built into the bridge base on the east side.

Dunkeld Bridge was built by Thomas Telford in 1809 and was the main road north to Inverness until the A9 was built in 1977. Today, it provides excellent views up and down the River Tay.

Very scenic. Various car parking areas are nearby so a useful start/finish location. And of course, there's the Tamouth Courtyard restaurant and village shop just north up the road

White water canoeists are often to be seen 'playing' just upstream of the river crossing bridge. Worth a stop to view. And of course, there's the chocolate shop.

Dull is a very small village near the River Tay in Perth and Kinross that is humorously paired with the American town of Boring in Oregon. In 2012, officials from both Dull and Boring decided to form a "sister community" relationship as a playful acknowledgment of their shared peculiar names. Official twinning of the two towns wasn't feasible (due to differences in population size), but a sign was installed to greet visitors and proudly declares their affiliation with Boring in Oregon. Refusing to be left out of the realm of dullness, Bland in Australia opted to join the list of uneventful places, becoming the third member in the 'trio of tedium' in 2017.

There's a helpful bike shop in the village.

The nearby car park makes this a useful start/end point for an adventure. Easy access to the extensive Craigvinean Forest gravel tracks or south across the main road to gravel tracks and forest paths around Birnam Hill.

A family-run bunkhouse for group lodging. Also the starting point for the Glassie Bike Park trails.
