This stretch is part of the old railway line that connected the diatomite mine with the coast. If you are higher up you can see the whole length still in the vegetation.

Beautiful views, but best to be enjoyed by bike

Fir Bhreugach is a 1,076 ft (328 m) high summit north of the Quirang. It's not the highest point around but its position affords amazing views south onto the landslip and the stunning landscape here.

Meall na Suiramach stands at 1,781 ft (543 m) above the sea and overlooking the Quiraing in northern Skye. It makes a great additional top if you're running a loop of the area from Flodigarry or the main Quiraing car park in the south. The views over the island and out to sea are superb but, the views down to the Quiraing are best from the top of the landslide cliffs.

The Quiraing was formed by the massive Trotternish landslip, creating this unusual and fascinating stepped terrain. There are lower and higher level trails to run and explore the area. It's very popular but, as a runner, you'll quickly leave most of the tourist photographers behind. The areas closest to the car parks are likely to be busy.

Nice little detour from the official Quiraing loop. But trail up there can be quite boggy and the views are much nicer from Buida Buidhe on the opposite side.

The winding river has lots of wildlife dotted around. Perfect for nature lovers.

The weather can change quickly in these parts. This path is pretty well defined, but up on the ridge you will need maps and a compass.

A lovely walk to inside the ridge, there isnt a clear path up, but ordinance suggests one along the ridge. Didnt tackle it on this trip.

Amazing views from here to the Isle of Lewis and the Outer Hebrides.

in cause you hike this way during the Winter don't forget the poles. we did 😂. and the way down was quite wet due to the melting snow - make sure that your shoes are water proof. We had additional socks in the car, which helped a lot after the hike. Anyway it was a fantastic hike with all the snow around us!
