Good little cafe van for coffee and food

A beautiful garden with great views and paths. Really worth a visit, especially when the Rhododendrons are in bloom. Only 15min by bike from Dunoon!

Turn left when you reach the information board and follow the tarmac pathway all the way back to the start point at Puck's Glen Car park

Continue down to the bottom near the information board. Be careful if you have a dog as it is quite near the busy road here. Across the road is Benmore Gardens if you want to find the cafe or combine a visit. There is also another walk beside the river you can merge with here.

You will pass a huge fallen tree from the 1998 gales weighing 10 tons apparently! The original path crossed the tree using a footbridge. Sadly this is closed due to repair work but there is a pathway around d the tree

Just keep following the forest road, on past the marker for the blue path to turn off (unless you want to shorten your walk) until you reach the orange and blue marker point

just follow the orange marker points all the way up the glen. I took loads of pics. It's such a magical place. Didn't stop my calf muscles complaining though. And I didn't see any fairies!

Park up in Pucks Glen Car Park. Saddened to see all the litter here. Wish people would be more considerate. Start the walk by following the path beside the plastic looking lodges (don't be enticed by the little footbridge heading uphill)

Benmore botanic gardens is a 120-acre mountainside garden surrounded by the dramatic scenery of Argyllshire. The gardens also have a tearoom. Perfect for a snack stop! Open daily from 1 March - 31 October, 10am - 5pm The Fernery opens at 11am and closes one hour before the Garden.

Glen Massan is the usual start point for a hike up Beinn Mhòr, the highest point on the Cowal Peninsula. It's a lovely glen surrounded by modest (by Scottish standards) hills and forestry land. The glen is also home to the wonderful Benmore Botanic Gardens, where you can find Giant Sequoias, walled gardens and a pretty waterfall.

Beinn Mhòr's southwest ridge is the usual way of ascent on the hike up from Glen Massan. The views are excellent, particularly south towards Loch Tarsan and west to Creag Tharsuinn. At the top, you'll have reached the highest point on the Cowal Peninsula, at 2,431 feet (741 m).

Easy accessible gorge with lots of beautiful waterfalls.

Part of the top end is closed but a very nice trail

An enjoyable walk from Glen Massen with steady walk up forestry tracks to warm up. We took a direct line from the trees up to the ridge where there is an ATV track leading to the summit. Beautiful views across the Southern Highlands.

So beautiful could be out of a movie

Really amazing view over the valley and on a misty day it is very picturesque

Pretty but slippery when wet

Path can be hard to find once out in the open past the treeline. Trig point only comes into view the last 100ish meters

Impressive giant trees form the entrance to the garden.
