Dog training center, you need to pay attention to the fence (marked as electrified), I have not been able to verify that it is possible to pass inside unaccompanied, but I would avoid it if not safe. Continuing on the path there is a passage to the left of the fence that rejoins the main path

From Madonna di Fornelli continue towards Pian di Balestra along path no. 019. Then follow the signs for Via degli Dei – Futa and Strada Romana, to reach a small wooden gate which leads to the wood. Just a few meters and you can see stretches of the Flaminia Militare, the ancient Roman route dating back to 187 BC. Continuing along the route, you come to a gate that is easily identifiable by a drawing and red writing that reads "Close the gate thanks". beyond which a large space opens up: a large field with a stone house on the right (locality "I Capannoni"). Going along the dirt road, after the bend you can see a tree with indications of the route. Continuing we take the right of the crossroads in front of us. This point of the route is not well signposted, but you have to follow the road and after a few meters you will find the CAI n°019 sign on the right. Via degli Dei

Medium-commitment stage, which, with the exception of the first section, takes place almost constantly in a well-shaded wooded environment following, as in the previous stage, the CAI 019 route up to the Futa pass and then the CAI 052. Some difficulty should be noted in finding the entrance to the CAI 52 path which leads to the Monte di Fo or Santa Lucia al Passo della Futa stage posts: the only signpost is a small handwritten note on a post of the road sign placed before the roundabout, barely visible. Compared to the two previous stages, there are fewer water points. Numerous archaeological emergencies along the route such as sections of the ancient military Flaminia at various levels of conservation and a furnace for obtaining lime from limestone, also from the Roman era.

Castel dell'Alpi lake is the only natural basin in the province of Bologna. It was formed in 1951 following a landslide which blocked the course of the Savena stream, partially destroying the village of Castel dell'Alpi, now rebuilt on the right bank of the lake.

In the hamlet of the same name of San Benedetto Val di Sambro, the small lake of Castel dell'Alpi has the Savena torrent as both its tributary and emissary. Unlike the nearby lakes of Suviana, Brasimone and Santa Maria, this one was formed naturally.

It was an extraordinary event that gave this name to the sacred place, a snowfall that occurred on August 5th of a year close to 1610. This event, completely similar to the one that happened centuries earlier at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, increased devotion in the comparisons with the Madonna so much so that it became a point of reference for all the nearby communities.
