Special place and for us Dutch very special because this tomb shows similarities with the dolmens in Drenthe (Netherlands). In addition, it is a very beautiful piece of nature where this tomb is located. From the parking lot it is only a short walk without challenges and recommended for everyone!

Museo del Sughero / Cork Museum, Calangianus How is it possible that Calangianus, a remote town in the Gallura hinterland, was included in the last century among the 100 most industrialized municipalities in Italy? The answer is very simple: cork. The process, which officially began in 1851, soon made Calangianus a fortune: in a short time, workshops were built that employed hundreds of people from the surrounding villages. Finally, this resource, which had always been so widespread in the region, was exploited on a large scale. In fact, in 1906, cork was successfully presented at the International Exhibition in Milan. In the Vallicciola park on Mount Limbara, the most photographed trees are the magnificent sequoias. Near the Hotel Vallicciola, a clean path immerses itself in a forest of sequoias mixed with a few pines. The sequoias of Vallicciola, an enchanting mountain village on the Limbara, are monumental trees, planted at the beginning of the last century, which reach almost 40 meters in height.

Nuchis is a splendid municipality, belonging to the seven historical municipalities of the Gallura area. Perhaps founded in the 11th century, it still maintains its ancient charm intact. The ancient churches are of great interest, such as that of the Holy Spirit built in the 13th century which is striking for its high bell tower which soars into the blue sky.

Bridge still closed as of 20th April 2024. Looks like there's still weeks/months of work left. I tried to cross but the construction workers forced me to turn around and take the 15km detour

The redwoods in Sardinia can be seen in Vallicciola, a delightful mountain village on the top of the Limbara massif. The very tall sequoias that inhabit the mountain in the territory of Tempio Pausania are truly majestic monumental trees that reach 40 meters in height. Planted at the beginning of the last century, they have long guarded the Vallicciola forest; a green area of incomparable beauty, a well-kept and maintained evergreen forest.
