In the heart of Niscemi, in the province of Caltanissetta, there is the Sughereta Nature Reserve, a green jewel established in 1997 by the Sicilian Region. With its 2,939 hectares, it represents what remains of an ancient and vast Sicilian cork grove. Here, the cork oak, emblem of the reserve, coexists with a wide biodiversity, which includes various species of orchids and nesting birds.

Scoglitti is a seaside hamlet of Vittoria overlooking the Gulf of Gela. Close to the archaeological area of Kamarina, it offers a coastline with wide golden sandy beaches. Being an important fishing centre, it is traditional to sell fish in the center of the town in the afternoon. The area is also home to several cultural heritage sites, including the Church of Santa Maria di Portosalvo and the lighthouse.
