3월 2, 2025, Spiaggia di Punta Molentis
The journey takes you along a gravel road that branches off the coastal road between Costa Rei and Villasimius. The route is easy to drive on, but hardly signposted. The L'Oleandro Hotel & Beach is located in one of the winding roads and will serve as a signpost. The side road, Strada per Punta Molentis, leads off to the beach. Parking is free on the side of the road or on gravel areas near the beach. However, finding a parking space can be difficult, especially in high season.

The small dream bay of Punta Molentis on the south-east coast of Sardinia impresses with its picture-book panorama and crystal-clear water. The beach is the link between the mainland and the small peninsula of Punta Molentis. The special thing about the beach: one side of the beach is in a bay, has fine sand and attracts with shallow, calm water. The other side of the beach faces the open sea and is characterized by rocks and waves. Despite its isolation, the beach is very popular. To enjoy the view in peace, a visit early in the morning or in the off-season is ideal.

Towards the Capo Carbonara lighthouse: you don't get to the lighthouse, which is owned by the Navy, but the fifty meters of altitude on the beaches allow a beautiful view of the eastern coast and the lighthouse of Isola dei Cavoli. The road between the bushes is asphalted, but towards the beaches it is gravel on the ground.

5월 21, 2024, Monte Maccioni Gravel Track to Villasimius
Beautiful gravel road, super rideable, at the end you can turn right onto Monte Maccioni (but be careful, that means pushing your bike for about 30 minutes uphill and sometimes downhill - but it's worth it). Or just continue on the road to the left 🤪

You can easily reach this point by bike - from here you have a good view of the lighthouse of the Isola dei Cavoli in front of the cape

The beach and rocks of Punta Molentis are one of the absolute highlights of Sardinia. A dream in the preseason, a nightmare in the season (as you can see in the different pictures) even though the municipality has limited access to 500 people.

The territory of Villiasimius extends from the Monti dei Sette Fratelli park to Capo Carbonara. It is a municipality that is home to just over three thousand inhabitants but during the summer it is a popular tourist destination due to its white beaches and turquoise sea.

Villasimius is the holiday destination par excellence in the south-eastern part of Sardinia: crystal clear sea, white beaches, social life and good food will satisfy every wish. But before continuing to describe the wonders of this area, I want to give you a tip: let ROBERTO follow you (https://www.bikegreen.eu/). I arrived from Tuscany without a bike, but taking everything else with me, to rent one. Seeing me was enough for him to 'dress' me perfectly on a carbon racing bike from the shop (...you can find any type of bike, just contact him first). I absolutely did not regret my bike and I was able to "explore" the coast road NORTH of Villasimius enjoying the view of the intense colors of the sea, clear and brilliant waters, granite rocks, delightful coves, long stretches of sand, lagoons and green hills, chosen for commercials, which infuse unique emotions. Villasimius is the pearl of the south, a dream tourist resort, whose population - less than four thousand residents in winter - multiplies in the warmer months with the arrival of tens of thousands of tourists. Its coast is formed by a 'crown' of beaches, interspersed with small cliffs and the promontory of Capo Carbonara. Starting from Capo Boi, the southern limit of the protected marine area, along the panoramic road you will find the splendid beaches of Porto sa Ruxi, Campus and Campulongu, all characterized by blue sea and white sand dunes, framed by Mediterranean scrub. Near the town, there is the very special beach of Rice, which differs from the others for the 'grains' that make it up. Beyond the modern tourist port, on the western side of Capo Carbonara, there are coves set among the rocks, including Cala Caterina. On the eastern side, get ready to discover breathtaking pearls, starting from Porto Giunco, with the Notteri pond behind it, the habitat of pink flamingos and other rare bird species. From the top of the promontory that dominates them, where an Aragonese tower stands, you will witness a dazzling picture that will remain imprinted in your mind (and in your photos): a double blue field, with various shades, practically 'two seas' separated by a strip of clear and thin sand, so much so that it looks like icing sugar. Going north, there are the beaches of Simius and Traias, and continuing Rio Trottu and Manunzas, which surround the wonderful Punta Molentis, another jewel of Villasimius. Then get off your bike and one day go to the island of Serpentara, passing through the island of Cavoli and various shallows, a 'cemetery' of wrecks from every era, the marine area of Capo Carbonara offers underwater shows: swarms of confident fish they roam among depressions, ramparts and gullies colored yellow by sea daisies and red by gorgonians and covered by posidonia meadows. If you can do without a sandy beach, you will find a quiet stone beach on the right side of the bay. Bathing shoes are recommended, the water crystal clear and also suitable for snorkeling. It is already up the mountain to pay "entrance fee", 10 € for the car, 1 € per person. If everyone has to decide for themselves, there are plenty of such bays that are free.

In the north, the path branches off the gravel road that starts west on the house pass (Villassimius) and ends at the coastal road. It has a wireframe at the tap, which must be exceeded. Then it's just a bit up, before the Karrweg over the ridge, later in the valley down to Villassimius leads. There are also plenty of spectators here (donkeys, peder, dogs).

At high tide, a small lagoon forms where children can play in warm water. A fantastic beach but not much space.

Very fine and flat sandy beach, ideal for small children. Versatile landscape in the smallest space. A bar is available and beach chairs with a parasol can - but do not have to - be lent.
