Beautiful cabin

Level T4 ascent, difficult route for experienced hikers, but with few exposed sections and easily passable. Caution is advised in late summer due to snow.

The Capanna Brogoldone is an alpine pasture with two main huts. One hut can accommodate up to 59 people. The other hut houses a small restaurant. Amazing views from up there!

The Capanna Brogoldone was once a mountain pasture and is today the result of a desire to preserve the remains of a bygone era. From 1995 to 1998, a group of volunteers set to work renovating the two existing buildings while maintaining the typical structure of the pasture: the former stable became a dormitory, and the building that once served as a cheese dairy and shelter for the mountain herders was converted into a kitchen and dining room. Small town above the lake of the same name, built on a terrace above the Calancasca river. In the village there are still some typical wooden and stone houses, as well as the church of SS. Peter and Anthony Abbot.

Bodio is a hamlet of the municipality of Cauco, located on the right bank of the Calancasca stream, at 955 meters above sea level. At the center of the dozen houses that make up the village, there is the chapel of the Madonna di Loreto, built in 1650 and originally dedicated to Bernardino da Siena.

Once you arrive in the town it is worth going a little longer to visit the Tower, formerly part of a residential building. One of the testimonies of the ancient life of the Valley.

The Torre Fiorenzana is almost certainly the oldest building in Grono. The first records date back to 1286 and 1314. It was part of a complex of fortifications which also included a small church. A small detour is certainly worth it.
