Lovely road down towards Brockenhurst but was quite a bit of traffic on the summer midweek I rode it. Tarmac pretty good. Cattle grids as to be expected to rattle the fillings loose.

Another great lane to ride in the New Forest. It may be flat in the forest but if the wind is in your face, things can get tough.

If the ford is flooded, you can use the road bridge 200m to the west to avoid it.

Verwood is a relatively small town in East Dorset, which is famous for the potteries which used the local clays. At the height of the town's pottery industry, there were over 30 kilns, however the last commercial pottery closed in 1952.

Popular with hikers and birders, the road slices straight through Ocknell Plain. Another of the prime spots to see wild ponies roaming in the New Forest. During WW2, it was home to Stoney Cross Airfield. What was once the airstrip is now the straight piece of road that runs south west from Forest Road.

The name, Telegraph Hill, was given to this spot after it was used as a semaphore station from 1795. Before then, it was called Plowed Garlic Hill. No sign of either exist today, but it has a place in history as one of the semaphore station used to communicate the victory at Waterloo.

Open everyday from 12:00 closes at 20:00 on Mon to Thurs. Closes at 21:00 on Fri and Sat. Closes at 18:00 on Sun.

East to west, this section put a big smile on my face. Great road surface and long visibility means you can really go for it on the gently winding bends.

Lovely little cafe with outdoor seating. Recommend the cheddar & chutney panini and Nutella milkshake!
