Godlingston Heath is a significant area of lowland heathland located near the village of Studland in Dorset, England. The mosaic of dry and wet heath, acid grassland, and small patches of woodland provides a home for a wide variety of species, many of which are rare or endangered. It is particularly renowned for being a stronghold for all six of the UK's native reptile species: Sand lizard: This is a particularly important site for the sand lizard, which is one of the UK's rarest reptiles. Studland Bay is dominated by one of the south coast's most famous landmarks - Old Harry. It is part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site and is managed by the National Trust. The chalk formations are popularly known as Old Harry Rocks, but the name Old Harry actually refers to the single chalk rock that stands furthest out to sea. The Bankes Arms Inn in Studland, Dorset, could almost be the model for any other traditional country inn. The shop sells seasonal gifts, children’s toys, books and sustainable homewares, as well as outdoor and walking equipment for both you and your four-legged friend. The National Trust visitor centre, shop and cafe at Knoll Beach car park. The centre has lots of information about the area, it's history and what the NT are doing to conserve the area. Nice normal NT cafe and shop selling beach kit, NT products and some snacks.

They are stunning and the trails around here are great, but it does get busy so best to run early or late if you can. This headland makes an obvious loop from Studland where there are cafes, parking and a great beach.
