I can only agree with the last tip. We have had less than stellar service recently, not felt especially welcome and the cycle provision is not good. As recommended head onto the Dovecote at Moreton. If you get a coffee the cafe is the best for quality but you have to drink it in the Cafe. When we asked to have our coffee in a flask they were not keen. The view of giant is best from the opposite hill. When I took my photo the chalk was very dull so viewing wasn’t brilliant but I know they restore him every now and again so he should be bright again.The climb up past the giant is very steep so if hiking poles would be a great addition and grippy footwear 👟

Good place to stop and rest

This small church consists solely of a nave and chancel. The original elements preserved from the 12th century are the chancel arch and the doorway.

Most of this church was rebuilt in the late 19th century, like many others in the area. Sir George Gilbert Scott and his son were responsible for this project, with the latter creating the perpendicular-style tower, which is the most striking feature of the building.

This provides a perfect viewpoint from which to observe the large hill figure of the Cerne Giant. It's at just the right distance, not too far, to see the figure in its entirety.
