Speke's Mill Mouth waterfall is a popular stopping point, with narrow access to the plunge pool for a dip in the summer. The falls become more impressive following wetter weather.

Absolutely mesmerizing! This coastal path offers extraordinary views at every turn, making it a must-visit destination. The turquoise blue waters and the vibrant wildflowers scattered across the cliffs provide just a glimpse of the stunning vistas you will encounter on this walk. The enchanting waterfall is an ideal spot for a break and a picnic, where you can admire the panoramic views of the sea as it powerfully crashes against the cliffs below. The scenery remains just as breathtaking on the journey back, leaving us in awe as we reluctantly headed back to the car.

The landscape here is very reminiscent of Ireland. If you have the opportunity, hike to the waterfall after a few rainy days, otherwise you will be disappointed that you don't see what the pictures show here

At least in German-language travel guides there is a real Clovelly bashing à la "Devon's Tourist Trap No. 1". So we didn't think it was that bad! There is a very expensive parking lot at the top of the town, there is a tourist shop with an exhibition, then the road goes steeply down into town. And yes, there are crowds of fellow tourists. The strata rock formations along this stretch of coast are stunning, the paths has some incredibly tough climbs and whether you are running or walking I recommend taking moments to soak ok in the views here.

A bit of a diversion of the South West Coast Path if you're running but well worth the effort. The beach is large at low tide but quite small at high tide, it's rocky and has a great wave cut platform. Blackchurch Rock is an amazing double arch. The seaward face has some brilliant rock climbing.

The tower has gotten so close to the cliffs at this point and is now "at risk of falling". It is scheduled to be moved backwards from mid-2023.

Hold your nose!! Needs to be renamed the p..s stop/tower

A short distance from Bude is Compass Point, also known as the Storm Tower or Tower of the Winds. It sits in a precarious position on the rapidly eroding cliff edge. Built in the 1830s, in 1881 it was moved inland to save it from falling into the sea. It is now facing a similar predicament. Plans are being made to once again move the tower, brick by brick, to safer ground.

Mouthmill Beach is home to the magnificent Blackchurch rock is a large arch stack. The magnificent arches are made from Hartland Quay Shale and contain goniatite fossils. The isolated cove has long been associated with smuggling activities. You can still see the remains of an old limekiln nearby whose limestone and coal would have been brought in via boat.

Bude Canal was built in 1823 to allow the transportation of mineral rich sand from Bude and the surrounding area inland to fertilize agricultural land. This revolutionised farming in the area and also allowed slate and granite to be transported to the sea. The canal was abandoned in 1891 and restoration is in progress.
