Absolutely amazing and inspiring museum

Probably the best ice cream in Cornwall! Made on site. Really good selection. I had the Ferreo Rocher which was insanely good. This place is so easy to miss but I cannot recommend it enough. Coffee shop with selection of food etc but it’s the ice cream that will put this on my MUST stop list

Great coast to coast route across mid Cornwall mainly off road trails and occasional quiet roads. Coffee stops, pub stops, great scenery, mining history and coastal views. There is nothing to dislike about this route.

There are lots of car parks to stop at, the one right by the pin had a bench and lovely views.

A short jog from St Ives station will bring you to Porthminster Beach. The sea is a gorgeous blue and the sand shines with a golden hue. As the palm trees sway in the wind you'll be forgiven for forgetting you're even in the UK.

A really great seaside resort on Cornwall's coast. The harbor is rather small. St Ives is very idyllic.

Sit on the harbour wall and watch the world go by. However if you fancy a bag of chips or and ice cream, take care of the seagulls they hunt in packs and they have evolved to be the ultimate ice cream predator.

Well worth a visit to this lovely little museum and sculpture garden, where Barbara Hepworth lived and worked. Here you can find the largest permanent collection of Hepworth's creations, including works in wood, stone, plaster and bronze. The museum and sculpture garden is now run by The Tate.

Beautiful beach to sit & have an ice cream👍

Portreath marks the start, or finish of the Cornwall coast to coast off road trail. There is an excellent cafe shack run by the Portreath Bakery on the seafront and lots of benches next door so you don't have to worry about getting your bike sandy to sit down with a beautiful sea view. The beach is popular with experienced surfers and families. There are public toilets and a car park closeby. Behind the harbour wall is Portreath Rock Pool, which is an excellent wild swimming spot when the sea is rough or for children. It was created by blowing a hole in the rock to create the pool and then adding a concrete dam. It is swimmable a few hours either side of low tide and is known locally as 'Rocky Pool'.

Hayle Estuary Nature Reserve is managed by the RSPB and is the most westerly estuary in the country. The warm climate means it doesn't freeze over so it is a place of great safety during harsh winters. Each year around 18000 birds migrate to the estuary and the RSPB are helping to ensure this area is protected for their use.
