Lovely pasties, proper flaky pastry, the lady stayed open for us even though she was just about to close. Early closing (1530) so check times.

Beautiful little coastal village lying on the south of Cornwall. We stayed here on night two of our West Kernow Way adventure at the Harbour Inn. They were bike friendly and served great food. We watched surfers in the sea and the sun going down before tucking into local fish and chips.

Godolphin House is a 15th Century manor house that is now owned by the National Trust. As well as the remarkably well preserved house there are vast grounds and local walks to explore. On Saturday mornings Penrose becomes the site of West Cornwall's Parkrun with around 200 runners taking on the 5km course each week. The running route follows the old Victorian roadway through woodland and parkland with views of Loe Pool and beyond. It is very busy at that time.

Tehidy Woods is the largest woodland area in the West of Cornwall, with multi-use paths for walking and cycling. Facilities within the country park include a cafe, toilets, visitor centre and picnic area. There are also various lakes within the woodland.

The mussel shoal does an excellent lunch.
