7월 21, 2024, Falmouth Harbour
The favourable position of the natural harbour between Falmouth Bay and the long stretched out bay of Carrick Roads as an anchorage made the small town of Falmouth the most important port in the British Isles alongside London during the sailing ship era.

12월 19, 2023, Robin Knox-Johnston Bronze Footprints
Robin Knox-Johnston became the first person to sail non-stop solo around the world. In a time without all the technology we have now, this is a truly impressive feat. The brass footprints of Sir Robin Knox-Johnston here commemorate the place where he left in 1986 and arrived back 312 days after! The footprints were to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the date he arrived back into Falmouth.

9월 26, 2023, Robin Knox-Johnston Bronze Footprints
Robin Knox-Johnston arrived here at the quay in 1969 after being the first to sail around the world non-stop and single-handed. His bronze footprints remind us of this. The Sunday Times Golden Globe Race is the forerunner of today's Vendee Globe. In 1968, nine sailors set off from British ports (Knox-Johnstone in Falmouth) to circumnavigate the world and collect £5,000 in prize money. Robin Knox-Johnston was the first participant to arrive back in Great Britain on April 22, 1969. He was given a triumphant reception. The story of Donald Crowhurst is tragic. He soon realized that he and his ship were not up to sailing around the world. So he sailed up and down the Brazilian coast, falsifying his logbooks. At that time there was no electronic navigation, so his location could not be tracked. Under the pretext of having to permanently close a leaking generator hatch to prevent further water ingress, he broke off radio contact in order to avoid increasing inquiries about his exact position. He rejoined the fleet of other sailors when they had rounded Cape Horn and sailed towards England. The main thing is that the "circumnavigation" is finished and the sponsors will be satisfied. Unfortunately, the situation changed quickly: Bernard Moitessier, who was in the lead and actually had a certain victory in his pocket, broke off the regatta and decided to sail around the world again. He simply turned south. After Knox-Johnston's victory (first to circumnavigate the world), Crowhurst and Tetley were still in the running for the prize for the fastest non-stop single-handed circumnavigation. Tetley sailed too riskily and was shipwrecked. Now Crowhurst was in a promising position for the fastest circumnavigation. However, since he now feared that his fake logbook would not withstand the scrutiny by experts that would have been necessary if he won, he panicked. Crowhurst never arrived in England and his boat was found empty. He had double-entry bookkeeping, and from the "honest" logbook you can see that he probably killed himself.

9월 18, 2023, Pendennis Point
Pendennis point provides beautiful views of the coast and is only a very short distance from busy Falmouth. The name comes the Cornish Pen (Headland) and Dynas (Castle). Dolphins and Basking Sharks have been spotted here along with more frequent visits from seals. Pendennis Castle began life in the 16th Century as a gun fort and has guarded the entrance to Carrick Roads (Falmouth Estuary) since. It is looked after by English Heritage and open to visitors.
