We hired ebikes as never used one before a Hybrid and MTB so we could swap halfway to see if we had a preference. we both preferred the eMTB as we both have MTB's at home. The advice from the hiring company was good as they advised when to save the battery for the up hill sections. For novice cyclists we were very pleased in completing the whole Camel Trail with a lovely pub lunch. We did it in late September and I expect the route would be very busy in Summer.

A certain sadness surrounds Port Quin. In the 19th century all the men from the small fishing port were lost at sea. The women and children who lived in the village abandoned their homes presumably due to having the the culture of the time meaning they were relient on the men's incomes. Port Quin is sometimes known as 'the village that died'.

Port Isaac is a lovely, quaint fishing village on the north coast of Cornwall. You have probably heard of it as it features in the Doc Martin TV series and is the home of the famous sea shanty group the Fishermen's Friends. Along this rugged part of the coast, Port Isaac provides a sheltered port for fishing boats and once a bustling port.

Padstow is famous for it's beautiful harbour, sandy beaches and amazing fish restaurants. Whether you grab fish and chips and sit on the harbour wall, or sample TV chef Rick Stein's first restaurant, the beaches and the food are not to be missed whilst you're here!

Wadebridge is also one of the access points to the Camel Trail and has good parking and bike hire facilities. If you are staying in the area, Wadebridge is the best place to shop as it has a wide variety of shops to choose from.

Small, picturesque town in north Cornwall. The city lies on the River Camel, at the beginning of the estuary that ultimately flows into the Atlantic. Definitely worth a detour - easily accessible via the A39.

It is a nightmare to cycle through once the visitors are there I.e. most of the year. Cyclists don't stand a chance, I cycle to Rock and catch the ferry over to P if I need to go there.
