Really great restoration and lovely towpath. It can get busy, so caution needed.

A variety of surfaces, but mainly beautiful fine gravel. A great way to get in or out of Stroud on any bike as it avoids the busy roads and has some very pretty scenery. It is shared with plenty of walkers, so courtesy is required. At present (March 2022) The section of the towpath immediately west of this segment is closed as a new railway bridge is built. When it is reopened it will be possible to connect to the cycle path that takes you all the way to Blunder Lock.

Follows the Stroud Canal passing Saul Marina and its boatyards. Loads of differing vessels to admire along its short length.

The Severn Way Footpath around the Arlingham Meander of the River Severn. Completely flat and exposed for most of the path, though there is a wooded section near Fretherne. Some stunning views along the way and with the right conditions some dramatic lighting.
