Enjoy the walk up from Clifford Mesne, and then taken in the expansive views. Don't miss the copse at the top, planted to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee.

Careful on the golf course, stay to the edges. Fantastic views over Gloucester and stroud. If you want an express route down take Stockley and enjoy rocketing into Upton st. Leonards.

Doable on an MTB, but not by me without an electric motor.

Fascinating archaeology, geology and nature combine at Haresfield Beacon. This spectacular viewpoint, which was once a strategically positioned hillfort on the Cotswold limestone escarpment, affords views across the England/Wales border and into the Brecon Beacons. All around is a mixed landscape of woodland and chalk grassland, home to a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Bit of a climb but worth it

A great short walk to the summer where you are rewarded with a brilliant view of the city.

This is one of the smaller hills in this area but still has some good views from the top. Views of the Malvern hills, Coopers hill & Chosen hill

Robinswood Hill's nature trails and viewpoints are an absolute delight. Easily accessible from Gloucester, the park is a great place from which to survey the surrounding countryside. Rising to 650 feet (198 m), its panorama includes the nearby Cotswolds, the Malvern Hills, the Severn Bridges and Wales' Black Mountains. The park’s 250-acre (100 ha) sprawl includes a dry ski slope, golf facilities and myriad habitats in its nature reserve. Badgers and foxes are among the mammal species that inhabit the reserve, while red kites are a common sight in the sky.

Distinct and visible for miles around, May Hill has a little hat of trees on top. A Marilyn, it lies just north of the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire and two named trails cross it: the Gloucestershire Way and the Wysis Way. Enjoy the far-reaching views from the summit towards the Welsh border and over the River Severn.

A nice little hike in the English countryside to take in a May Hill. At 295m it is a UK listed Marilyn so one less to do.

Great views and hence, usually lots of people and dogs to avoid. The climb up from Cheltenham Road is short and punchy.

This is worth a trip on any bike, worth exploring from every direction, and certainly worth visiting cranham woods for even more good downhill, singletrack and fireroads. Just be mindful of cows and considerate to Golfers and Walkers who also share the beacon and it's surrounding land (also the royal william Pub nearby is nice!)

Loads of trails and roads to follow up to the beacon. Great views across to the river Severn - the area is shared with Painswick Golf course and often busy with Golfers, walkers and cyclists

Highest point in the area (Trig point) Very good views. Benches in the close to sit down and enjoy your lunch. Plenty of trails to follow from here

Once you have enjoyed some of the great singletrack and doubletrack trails, climb to the top of the Beacon and take in the views

You are afforded a glorious views from Haresfield Beacon; stretching over the Severn Estuary, the City of Gloucester and the Forest of Dean. Standish Wood, which you pass through en route, is a site of special scientific interest due to its Jurassic rocks and is a magical place to explore.

It is a lovely walk up to Painswick Beacon and the views are very impressive. You are afforded a full panorama from the summit and the views over to the Severn estuary are exceptional. The route to the top does pass through a golf course, though, so watch out for stray balls.
