Stroud Brewery is located alongside the T&S canal, which makes this an ideal stop for a drink and something to eat. I wouldn`t say this place is cyclist hostile, more cyclist unfriendly. Let me explain, on arriving from canal side, bikes were put in the adjacent garden (not creating a trip hazard) , which attracted the attention of one of the staff who requested they be moved to the bike rack at the front of building. So that's completely out of view to everyone. Other cyclists placed bikes under the stairs, which this member of staff complained was blocking a fire exit.

Bit muddy when wet but great path to the river

A mixture of paved and dirt paths lead you around the majestic Toadsmoor Woods in Gloucestershire. The woods feature towering trees, seasonal wildflowers & a babbling brook that runs right through.

This beautiful, traditional 19th century inn is the ideal place to stop and refuel on your countryside stroll. The pub is open Monday to Thursday, 5-12pm, and Friday to Sunday midday until late.

Completed in 1789, the Thames & Severn Canal was conceived as part of a canal route linking Bristol and London. After many years of decline, restoration work began in the 1970s and has been ongoing ever since.

Food was excellent but took an age to arrive as cafe was far too busy - need to avoid Saturdays in future
