If you find yourself in Gloucestershire, Woodchester Mansion in Nympsfield is worth considering. It's an unfinished Gothic revival house with a peculiar story, as construction halted in the mid-1870s, leaving it complete externally but with many interior spaces unfinished. The mansion opens seasonally to the public, and also seasonally houses a cafe. This unique state of preservation, along with a resident bat colony, makes for a rather distinct and thought-provoking visit.

Situated at the top of a hill on the Cotswold escarpment, the pretty town of Minchinhampton is an ancient market town and a good stop-off for a mid-ride coffee. Minchinhampton Common is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and looked after by the National Trust - the summer wildflowers and butterflies are incredible.

Nice little town to cycle through. Generally quiet as not a very convenient through route for drivers. Can be narrow in places so more of a steady paced route options.

The most sun surprise ever! They have an easier and a more challenging circuit. What a great idea!
