Get there whenever you see the boats leaving the docks!

Gloucester Docks is a historic area of the city of Gloucester. The docks are located at the northern junction of the River Severn with the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. They are Britain's most inland port.

Not bad for UK!

Ace, traffic-free trail. A nice break from some of the surrounding roads. :)

No idea who these carved wooden statues represent, but they are impressive and beautiful. I named my bike "Rosinante"... but I haven't tried tilting at any windmills... yet!

A great cycle path that follows the Severn. Due to its proximity to the Severn in can get a little moist (to say the least) after a lot of rain.

Watch out for those normies!

A quiet and winding way, though a bit rural at times. Great if you want to avoid the busy junction with the A419

A nice way into or out of Gloucester which avoids the busier roads.

Forget what Komoot says about the track between here and Elmore... it is pristine gravel or paving and very smooth. There's only one 100 yard stretch where it's a bit muddy, otherwise it can be done on any bike at any time of year.

A Grade II listed church that forms part of the wider Severnside Benefice, which comprises the Parishes of Chaceley, Forthampton, Deerhurst with Apperley and Tredington with Stoke Orchard and Hardwicke. The tower is 13th century. In the churchyard there is a whipping post and stocks. The post has manacles and stocks for three which have survived from 1787.

The church stands on the east bank of the River Severn and opposite to Deerhurst. The church as an unusual Norman chancel arch with a 'devils's face' keystone, probably of Saxon origin, and some 13th century features including the tower with a small spire. It is great to cycle around as it almost forms a roundabout on the route, giving you a view of most of the church.

A 14th century Grade 1 listed church, that is one of eight historic churches between two rivers of the Severn and the Leadon. Most of the parish is below the 100ft contour, sloping down to riverside meadows, which are liable to flooding.

Worth a look and plenty of food and drink options available.

The standing wall on this site incorporates remnants of the church built about 900 AD by Æthelflæd, the daughter of King Alfred the Great and also known as the Lady of Mercia. Æthelflæd and he her husband Æthelred were rulers of Mercia at a time when its eastern territory was occupied by Danish Viking armies. In 909 Æthelflæd and her brother Edward, King of Wessex, successfully lead an army into Danish-held Lincolnshire and brought back powerful relics: the bones of Saint Oswald of Northumbria. The relics were placed in a crypt at the east end of the new church. Æthelred and then Æthelflæd were buried here.

Mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086. The perpendicular tower dates from the 15th century.
