Gloucester Docks is a historic area of the city of Gloucester. The docks are located at the northern junction of the River Severn with the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. They are Britain's most inland port.

Doing a circuit from Saul Junnction along the canal towards Splatt Bridge, back through Frampton village - two pubs and a cafe - enjoying what is said to be the longest village green in England. Rejoin the canal at Fretherne Bridge and retrace your steps to Saul Junction. 7kms.

Some great places at the docks. Nice to stop for coffee and shops.

Gloucester cathedral showcases 1000 years of architectural styles from Norman through to Perpendicular and even the present day as repair and rennovation continues. Pop in and admire the fan-faulted medieval cloisters, colourful Great East Window, and the decorative Lady Chapel, which houses some of the finest Arts & Crafts glass in the country.

Recently resurfaced and is as pristine as the section from Elmore Lane to the docks, if not more so... and in nicer surroundings. Possibly the best section of the entire towpath. It's now suitable for any bike.
