A nice tarmac trail.

One of the many trails in the Peak District. You can cycle just this route, or join it up with others nearby.

If there are people in the cave you can hear them from the trail. It is possible to climb up to the cave.

Quite a few people hike up, but I didn't. The Manifold Trail is great anyway

Nice view up to Thor's cave. There is a place to lock the bike up if you want to visit the cave.

Ford where the Hoo Brook runs across Leek Road at Wetton Mill

A Mostly traffic free route as the section through the Tunnel is along a single track lane mostly used to access parking though there is a secondary old road that runs parallel to the trail that can be used as an alternative, The Tarmac is rather rough in places and not really suitable to ride on skinny tyres unless you enjoy getting bounced around, though it doesn't get as busy as Tissington or The High Peak Trail.

Flat and traffic-free cycle and walking route following the former Leek and Manifold Light Railway through some magnificent scenery. Bike hire available at the southern end of the Trail in Waterhouses. Cafes along the route including great tea garden near the southern end. The trail follows the route of the Hamps and Manifold "rivers" which have often disappeared into the ground so there is a lot of river bed and not much water. The trail passes by Thor's Cave which can be accessed by parking the bikes and climbing up a steep hill (watch children as there are some steep drops). Lots of points of interest including a ford and a tunnel to cycle through.
