A commemorative carving to celebrate King Charles III's coronation. Professional tree carver Andy O'Neill, of Bristol-based Wild Wood Carving, began work on the cedar in August and used a range of chainsaws to sculpt intricate designs into the tree. The wildlife-themed totem encompasses a variety of animals including butterflies, bees, owls, dormice, lady birds, a Roman snail and a Goshawk. On top is a bucks head to represent the park’s history.

Seems the Bathurst estate are looking for any reason to make their grounds a less enjoyable place to visit. Can't cycle here at all. I'd recommend skipping the whole manicured nonsense and going off to the commons and beechwoods to the north and northwest.

River Thames Bed now completely dried up.

A pretty Cotswold village in south Gloucestershire. It's the settlement closest to the source of the river Thames.

Kemble is the closest settlement to the source of the Thames and is often visited by those starting the Thames Path long-distance hike. It is also the end point for the Wysis Way, a superb trek which links the Offa's Dyke Path to the Thames Path by way of the Wye Valley and the Cotswolds. The village is superbly accessible thanks to its pretty railway station, which has direct services to London Paddington, Swindon, Gloucester and Cheltenham. Just to the west of the village is Cotswold Airport, which is used by light industry.
