Lovely walk to and from the Cafe across Cleeve Common

Take a seat and enjoy wonderful views over Cheltenham, the Vale of Evesham, the Malverns and as far as the Black Mountains in Wales.

Steep at the bottom easing off for the middle section and then ramping up again at the top section. A good climb on good road surface.

Pretty Cotswold village. There are four routes out of the village and all involve steep climbs.

Good food, beautiful location next to the river, indoor and outdoor seating. Excellent for fuel before Withington hill.

Great climb. A “Grind it out” vibe

St Oswold is a pretty church in Compton Abdale village dating back to the early 1400s. Surrounded by sheep grazing, the church has a perpendicular tower with unusual pinnacles. It's a great place to stop for a picnic.

At 1,083 feet (330 m) above sea level, Cleeve Hill is the highest point in Gloucestershire and the highest peak of the Cotswold Hills. It's part of Cleeve, which is a common that's criss-crossed by countless footpaths. From the summit, you are treated to spectacular views that stretch for miles and miles.
