The ruins of Ludlow castle is on a promontory overlooking the River Teme. It was one of the first stone castles to be built in England and dates back to the 11th century.

St Bartholomew’s Church, is like stepping back in time with its box pews and raised pews - it’s well worth a visit! Richard’s Castle is just through the churchyard to the left, great views from up on the Keep.

Croft Castle is a 17th-century castellated manor house set within formal gardens. There's a working vineyard, orchards and walled garden, along with 1,500 acres of parkland, woodland, farmland and even an Iron Age hillfort. National Trust members/paid entry to the main site but public footpaths, including the Mortimer Trail, weave throught the surrounding countryside, offering wonderful running.

Ludlow is a medieval market town and has more beautiful buildings than you can shake a stick at. With cobbled streets and black and white timbered buildings, it's an incredibly picturesque location. Almost 500 of its buildings are listed and every street contains something to gawp at. On the banks of the River Teme, the town has several stunning bridges and an 11th-century castle.

Almost 1,000 years old, the ruins are in excellent condition and feature sections built across the centuries. The castle is privately-owned and open to visitors. It's also let out as a wedding venue and has a cafe and a shop. There is an entry-fee.

Stokesay Castle is a stunning place to visit. The photos speak for themselves. There is a nice little shop on site. Allow at least a couple of hours for a visit.

Richard's Castle is a village, castle and two civil parishes on the border of the counties of Herefordshire and Shropshire in England. There is not much left of the castle but the remains and the nearby church is very quaint and worth a visit.
