Spanning the River Teme at the entrance to Ludlow is the beautiful Dinham Bridge. This super nice arched stone bridge is not as old as it looks, being built in 1823, it is not that old in UK terms, and it was constructed by no other than Thomas Telford. It is a stunning bridge with a gorgeous river vista and views of Ludlow Castle.

Little, though lovely town, on the border of Shropshire and Worcestershire counties. Very beautiful high street with some cafés

Great to stop for a coffee or lunch, plenty of pubs and little cafes on the high street. Pembroke House or the Fountain Inn have some really good lunch menus. If you fancy a hill challenge you can take the road from Tenbury to Clee Hill.

Pencombe is a small beautiful village. Surrounded by fabulous views and few climbing.

Scenic black and white village square overlooked by a decent pub.

One of the most scenic village greens in the county, overlooked by a cafe/deli and a grocery store if you want to stop.

A couple of ramps but generally a pretty steady gradient, and the top arrives quite quickly.

The well maintained fairways made it feel worthwhile carrying a full set of golf clubs on my ride. The groundsman didn’t look too happy about me walking over the greens in my road cleats though.

The Central Bakery coffee shop is a good option for a refreshment break. Opens 8.00-2.30 Mon-Sat.

Superb road for a fast drop from the golf club towards Weobley, with the smooth surface and sweeping bends allowing you to build and carry your speed, and some great views on the first part of the descent as well.

Scenic village that marks the start point for a great climb up Hegdon Hill.

Flat but the surface is no better than average.

Bog standard main road. Functional route, if not exciting.

130m of climb from the main road towards Pencombe but the views towards Worcestershire Beacon from the top are worth it.

Beautiful weir situated below the stunning castle

Slightly busier road/climb than others in the area but worth it for the panoramic views. Highest A road in Shropshire, no less.

Medieval bridge with a great view of Ludlow castle. Riding in or out of Ludown, just stop and appreciate the number of people that have crossed this bridge since the 12th Century.

As a start point to our tour into Wales, we pre-booked multi day carparking online in the Coop carpark (no in store loo facilities, just the grim ones at the adjacent bus depot) Served our purpose well though.
