Very friendly, knowledgeable, and informative German-speaking museum guide. The museum was put together with a lot of passion.

Unfortunately, the castle is not open to the public. After a decade or more of neglect, the building is currently undergoing renovation. However, its intended use is primarily for hotel and restaurant services.

After many years of stagnation, counting from when the castle changed owners, one can finally see the changes taking place. If one looks at photos of the castle from a few years ago, or even a year ago, one will notice positive images.

The colorful stones that decorate the Ełk promenade are about 20m long and are hand-painted. The stones were painted by, among others, residents of Spain and children from Nairobi.

Ełk Lake, which you can walk around or cycle around, is a route of about 16 km.
