The Bottle Lodges at Burghley House are a pair of distinctive gatehouses located at the entrance to the estate, built in 1801 to commemorate the Earl of Exeter's elevation to the marquessate.

St Martin's Church in Stamford, Lincolnshire, is a Grade I listed Church of England parish church. Historically located in Northamptonshire until 1889, the area it serves is known as Stamford Baron or St Martin's, situated south of the River Welland.

Ride over this lovely bridge in Ketton, heading south, and within a mile you will be tackling the steady climb to Collyweston featured in these pages.

The Bottle Lodges were built in 1801 to celebrate the Earl’s elevation to the title of 1st Marquess of Exeter. They are based on the surviving lodges for Old Campden Manor, Chipping Campden, built around 1613.

The Bottle Lodges mark the original horse & coach entrance to Burghley House from the Great North Road.

Ketton Quarry is over a mile wide – its size has to be seen to be believed. The rocks here contain ammonites, corals, brachiopods, bivalves, fish and reptile remains, and much, much more. You won't be able to access the working quarry, but it's worth a look from the viewpoint.
