The chamber is 44 m long, the gate is 7.5 m wide, and the water level difference is about 2 m. The lock gates are opened with an electric drive. The Guzianka Lock is a very important communication junction on the route of the Great Masurian Lakes. It is a water connection between the city of Ruciane-Nida and Lake Nidzkie with the rest of the navigable route. During the season, several hundred yachts, motorboats, kayaks and other floating objects are crossed here every day. Ships of the white fleet also use it.

The new lock can accommodate 10 large and medium yachts or 12 medium and small yachts in two rows. It provides the possibility of communication between lakes, the water level of which differs by approx. 2 m.

The facility will improve traffic on the shipping route of the Great Masurian Lakes, which is a world-unique waterway, an attraction for sailing enthusiasts and the economic heart and driving force of the development of Masurian towns.
