Lovely small village. Descents on both sides of the village. Bridge over the lake. If your lucky you may see a black swan. Very picturesque.

Burghley House is always worth a wander through. It has wide shared paths for walking and cycling so it's just for slow speeds. Free parking if you have a car.

Popped in as I was cycling through and glad I stopped for a Cappuccino and a Cake. Great Coffee and Raspberry and Almond Muffin ( Homemade?) I looked at the menu a good selection of food. Nice friendly staff highly recommend I will pop in again when on passing by.

This is a grade II listed pedestrain bridge over the River Welland, dating from 1881 and built by Stamford Town Council to replace one destroyed by flood in July 1880. It is built out of rubble stone and iron.

Red Lion Square is a historic market place and the center of Stamford, Lincolnshire, England, known for its cobbled surface.

Narrow, twisty, lumpy, shared use path. Fine for bike tourers or gravel riders, not recommended as a road cycling route.

Panoramic views to the east as you descend off the higher ground into Glatton.

Impressive parkland thanks to C Brown. Whilst in the area pedal a few miles along the quiet roads on the north and east sides of the estate to visit the Hills and Holes National Nature Reserve in Barnack.

lovely village store and tea garden selling home made produce, cakes, breakfast and lunch. Open Tues-Sat, 10-1600. Very accommodating, plenty of space to park up bikes.

I would stay away from that lane as people driving to Rectory Farm don't seem to be familiar with single track roads or can't be bothered to slow down while overtaking.

The whole route is a delight; quiet lanes with chocolate box villages and pubs with a minimum of climbs. Well worth riding this one.

Don't cycle on them, the clue's in the name.

Wide road with smooth tarmac that follows the high ridge through the Giddings (Great, Little & Steeple), with open views across the country.
