La Mola d’Ares is a mountain located in the province of Castellón, in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is known for its stunning scenery and historical significance. At the top of the mountain, lies the small village of Ares del Maestre, offering panoramic views and a peaceful atmosphere.

The Mirador de Ares del Maestrat, also known as the Mirador del Castillo, offers spectacular views of the Els Ports region and the mountainous landscape surrounding the town. From this point, you can enjoy a stunning panorama that spans from the valleys to the mountains, making it a perfect place to take photos and enjoy nature.

The Església Parroquial de l’Assumpció in Ares del Maestrat is a beautiful example of Baroque architecture. Built between 1717 and 1735, this church stands on the remains of an older Gothic-Romanesque church that was destroyed during the War of the Spanish Succession in 1707. The church is located in the centre of the village, next to the remains of the castle, making it a point of interest both historically and architecturally.

Hermitage at 1300 m altitude with a magnificent location from which you can see an exceptional panorama of Els Ports with Morella Castle on the horizon and a beautiful view of Castellfort.

Romanesque and Gothic style hermitage built in the 13th and 14th centuries, and located in the municipality of Castellfort. The complex is made up of the hermitage and the inn, built in the 17th century. The hermitage, with a rectangular floor plan and a single nave, is made up of two different parts, the apse and the nave. The hostelry is an added construction consisting of two floors. In the lower one were the stables, a hearth and a couple of rooms used by the keepers. The bedrooms and a room adorned with an image of the keys of Saint Peter were distributed on the upper floor.

The parish church of La Asunción, in Baroque style, dates from the 18th century. It is built on the remains of a 15th century church, which caught fire during the Spanish Succession War in 1707. Only the bell tower survived.

Ruins of the old Hermitage of Sant Marc, a curious construction due to its simplicity and still standing today. It is located in a truly remote place and that gives it an additional charm, a very quiet place, ideal for making a stop on the route and contemplating the landscape and the silence.
