The ruins of a Gothic church in Trzęsacz, dating from the 15th/16th centuries. It was built 2 kilometers from the shore, in the village, but by 1868, the cliff edge was just a meter from the church, and it soon had to be closed. The power of nature is immense!

KI describes the place as follows: Dźwirzyno (Kolberger Deep) is a small town on the Polish Baltic coast near Kołobrzeg, whose main attractions are its beach and nature. The town doesn't offer any major attractions in the traditional sense, but is a popular destination for a quiet beach holiday and excursions to the surrounding area, such as Kołobrzeg or the Słowiński National Park. (In my opinion, the "quiet beach holiday" concept is outdated, at least during the summer holidays. 🙂)

So we were inside the castle...and I couldn't stop myself from seeing it...an absolute MUST for fans of lost places. Simply amazing...and the fact that the ghost is supposedly still haunting the place made it all the more amazing...

In 2025 the beach access is already closed.

Such houses, villas, and beaches were often gifts from wealthy citizens or companies to politicians and their associates. This is still common practice in many parts of the world today. Others build and pay for something, hoping to gain influence. It was no different with the villa at Camp Conrad (Adenauer) in the Kammerwald forest in the Eifel region. He never used it, and today it, too, is a ruin in the forest. Or think of all the abandoned forest lodges.
