This quiet town of less than 600 inhabitants is a good place to stop and enjoy one of the two squares it has.

The Plaza de las Palmeras is the center of this small and charming town of Santa Marta de los Barros. As the name suggests, there is a small square with several palm trees surrounded by beautiful colorful houses. In this town there are other interesting places to visit such as the Church of Santa Marta and the Plaza de la Constitución.

This small town for many years was nothing more than a few families living in the area. However, it began to grow in the 1850s and had more than 1,700 residents by 1920. Currently, there are a little more than 1,200 residents who work mainly in the area's agriculture, which is grapes and olive trees. This means that the area around the town is full of fields and trails that are nice to explore.

Perched on top of a hill overlooking the city, Feria's medieval castle is famous for its massive keep. A defensive castle dominates the landscape below.

In 1811, in the War of Independence, the famous battle of La Albuera took place. As a reminder of that battle, you can see, on Avenida de Extremadura, two large mosaics commemorating it, which was the beginning of the end of the French invasion of Spanish territory.

Located on the outskirts of the town of La Parra and in the middle of the beautiful landscape of the valley, we find the beautiful Hermitage of San Juan, so loved by the residents.

Built on the bed of the Guadajira River and near the town of Villalba de los Barros, the dam gives us precious views as we meander along the shore. Pastures grow in the surroundings that are used by the sheep farms present in the area. On the horizon of the swamp you can see the castle of Feria.
