The listed, Evangelical Lutheran parish church of St. Mary Magdalene stands in Tennenlohe, a district in the southeast of the city of Erlangen (Middle Franconia, Bavaria). The church is registered as a historical monument in the Bavarian Monument Register under the monument number D-5-62-000-921. The parish belongs to the Erlangen deanery in the Nuremberg church district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria.

Major reconstruction of the enclosure or reoccupancy can only take place once a final, reliable assessment of the ammunition contamination in this section has been completed. The church is striking because it is actually "two churches." The first church was built in the mid-19th century and, after just over 70 years, was expanded in 1923 with a further long building with an octagonal tower. This is how the church today appears as a church made up of two churches. The interior was renovated two years ago.

The small Wied Pond in Tennlohe is a small, idyllic spot and part of the local sculpture park. Dieter Erhard's "Ferryman" is also very beautiful. The boat stands at the edge of the pond and, due to the low water level, appears to float above the surface.

The Evangelical Lutheran parish church of St. Mark (usually called St. Mark's Church for short) in Erlangen is a city-defining post-war modernist church building with stylistic echoes of traditional Franconian sacred architecture. Named after the Evangelist Mark, the church is now a listed building. The St. Mark's congregation is now made up of around 4,300 Protestant Christians in the east of Erlangen, as well as in Buckenhof and Spardorf.[1] The previously nameless square in front of the church has been called St. Mark's Square since 2018.
