Away from it all in the "wilderness". Indescribably beautiful scenery! The olive trees near Jódar thrive in the region's Mediterranean climate, with warm summers and mild winters. The trees are hardy and can survive temperatures as low as -12°C, making them very suitable for the local conditions.

This beautiful village, surrounded by olive groves, is located at the foot of the Sierra Magina mountain range, with olive trees on one side and mountains on the other. The village, the most populated in the park, extends over a hill under the watchful eye of a beautiful castle, which is also part of the historical artistic site. It also has a beautiful parish church. The municipality is located in the Sierra Magina Natural Park, part of the Subbetic region, which offers beautiful and spectacular views. As for the vegetation, holm oaks and gall oaks are common, as well as pines and salgareños. The rich and varied flora and fauna are also important. The Iglesia de la Asunción in Jodar is a beautiful historic church with a rich history and impressive architecture. The church was built on the site of an old mosque, with construction documents dating back to 1547. Construction took place in different periods, with contributions from masters such as Domingo de Uriarte, Juan Vizcaíno, and the brothers Gaspar and Francisco de Aranda. The church combines different styles, including Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassicism. The church has a cruciform plan with chapels on the sides, a typical feature of the architecture of Andrés de Vandelvira. The interior is decorated with limestone arches and a beautiful cross vault in the cloister. The tower, built by Juan de Aranda in 1640, is decorated with episcopal coats of arms. Inside the church you will find valuable works of art, including the Retablo Mayor in neo-Renaissance style by Carlos Bravo Nogales. The church also has a beautiful neoclassical portal by Manuel Caballero from the 18th century, considered one of the best in the province.
