An isolated and austere tower, the remnant of an ancient defensive complex, suddenly appears in the open landscape. It needs no context to command respect: stone, height, and silence. It is one of those landmarks that forces you to look up and slow your pace.

Nestled among high meadows and silent mountains, the Órbigo River is born from the confluence of the Luna and Omaña rivers, two streams that meet near La Magdalena, in the province of León. There are no grand waterfalls or monuments, only the murmur of the water merging beneath an old bridge. Locals say that here the river "learns to speak," and anyone who stops to listen understands why: its sound is the beginning of many stories that will unfold down the valley.

Riello is a small town in the province of León, located next to the Omaña River, in the Western Leonesa Mountains. Like many of the settlements in this mineral-rich area, it goes back to the Bronze Age and the Roman exploitation of gold.
