The Barrancas de Burujón are a kind of small canyon, with different layers of clay and rock. At the foot of the Barrancas de Burujón is the Castrejón reservoir, which is a haven for hares, rabbits and various birds. Therefore, the region is an officially registered sanctuary for protected animal and plant species.
