Pico Gilbo is an iconic mountain located in the Cantabrian Mountains, near Riaño, in the province of León. With an altitude of 1,679 metres, it is known for its stunning panoramic views and challenging climb.

Located at 1,679 meters above sea level, we are at the top of Pico Gilbo, which offers us one of the best panoramic views of the province of León. From here we can see Peñas Pintas, Pico Llerenes, Pico Castaño, Pico Yordas, Pico Pandián, Picos de Europa and a large part of the Palencia Mountain, highlighting Pico Espigüete. Also, the spectacular Mampodre Massif.

At this point of the route of the Mines we find the Imponderable Mine and a spring. This mine was used to extract iron, as we can see in the color of the stones in the stream. The source has a high iron content, so it is not recommended to drink from it.
