Isaba, also known as Izaba in Basque, is a picturesque village located in the Roncal Valley in the Navarrese Pyrenees, northern Spain. This charming village is known for its rich history dating back to the Middle Ages, when it was a strategic outpost for the Kingdom of Navarre. Isaba offers breathtaking scenery with lush green meadows in spring, colorful autumn leaves and snow-capped mountains in winter.

Escó or Esco is located to the north of the province of Zaragoza and it was in 1960 that most of the area was expropriated (together with those of Ruesta and Tiermas) for the construction of the Yesa reservoir, with which the town began its decline to abandonment. Now it gives us impressive views of the reservoir between the old and dilapidated houses.

We come across a beautiful picture offered by the medieval castle of Ruesta on top of a stony hill, from where there are good views of the Yesa reservoir. It dates from the 11th century and was an important defensive enclave of the kingdom of Aragon during the Reconquest period. Currently, only two towers remain.

One of the most important castles in the Community of Navarra, located in the town of Javier whose name is related to the birthplace of San Francisco Javier, universal patron of missions and youth. The renowned castle is today a museum that can be visited. Its construction dates back to the 11th century and was designed to protect the kingdom of Navarra from the kingdom of Aragon, delimiting the boundary between them. Ruesta's medieval castle dates back to the 11th century and was an important defensive enclave for the Kingdom of Aragon at the time of the Reconquest. Today only part of the keep and a smaller tower remain. Even so, it still offers a picturesque picture rising from a rocky hill, from where there are fantastic views of the Yesa reservoir.
