Beautiful landscapes of fields of trees that in spring times are in full bloom in a beautiful atmosphere to walk through!

The path from the Cascada Caozo is a partly very steep mountain path with very few cairns and is densely overgrown. The pool at the Cascada Calderon invites you to swim.

The municipality of Casas del Castañar belongs to the Valle del Jerte region, which is famous for its extensive cherry tree crops. If you do the Ruta de los Castaños you will be able to enjoy the view of these beautiful trees, which are especially beautiful in spring, when they are in bloom. However, they are worth admiring at any time. You can find them, normally, distributed in terraces.

At this point there is a group of century-old chestnut and oak trees, some of which are more than 700 years old and ten meters in diameter. There are four chestnut trees declared Singular Trees in the municipality of Casas del Castañar. In autumn you can enjoy a true visual spectacle thanks to the reddish tones of the leaves and the mist, which adds a mystical touch to the scene.

The picturesque path that leads to this waterfall is worth the trip, but this does not rule out the beauty of the Cascada del Calderón.

This is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the area. It's only a short walk from the road, but if you're with a bike, you'll need to leave it on the road or ride up a steep path.

The Route of the Mojón Blanco offers a very entertaining itinerary and views and highlights the Cuerda de los Cervigueros with wonderful views towards the entire Valley of La Vera.

The top of the Mojón Blanco at 1400 meters above sea level offers beautiful views of the entire interior of Extremadura and the valley of La Vera. It can be reached by the marked route PR-CC 14 from Piornal.
