By naming this park – with its beautiful green spaces and water areas a popular local recreation area – the city of Mostoles honors a deserving Nobel Peace Prize winner: Nelson MANDELA (born 1918, Nobel Peace Prize 1993, died 2013) dedicated his long life to non-violent resistance against the apartheid policy (racial segregation) in South Africa.

The tower of Pan, or Arroyomolinos, is the only remaining bastion of an ancient castle. Its current state of conservation is very good and it is part of the medieval buildings that can be visited in the Community of Madrid.

Also called Torre del Pan (the only trace of the Castle of Pan), it is a fortification of interesting shape, typical of the late medieval period. It dates back to the 15th century and is located in the historic center, very close to the green areas of Arroyomolinos. It has information panels, so come and learn its history.

A beautiful park that divides the town of Arroyomolinos into two parts, a true green lung. It is located on the banks of the Arroyada stream, it has several paths, bike paths, picnic areas.

Much of the outskirts of Arroyomolinos towards the Guadarrama River (west of this town) is full of various trails and fun trails, ideal for walking around or hiking, as there are wider, flatter, and more difficult trails. A perfect place to spend the afternoon, even with an MTB or cross bike. There is some slope and although there is not much difference in level, we can enjoy the views of the surroundings.

A nice path for hiking, especially in autumn when the leaves on the trees change color.
