3월 11, 2025, Abandoned Village of Peguera
Located at an altitude of 1,600 meters, Peguera is an abandoned village belonging to the municipality of Fígols. Its peak mining activity was experienced in the late 19th and mid-20th centuries, thanks to the high level of mining activity. The abandonment of the coal mines further depopulated Peguera, leaving it in its current state, where most of the houses are in ruins.

The Collada Sobirana is a classic of the Berguedà, whether from Guardiola de Berguedà or from the Pobla de Lillet, it is a pleasant and tough port at the same time. The first is longer and harder, with more exposure to wind and sun. The second is shorter and draws its curves in a very leafy forest that can protect you on very hot days.

It is a port that has 2 completely different sides, in both cases with a narrow road, good asphalt and little traffic, although the La Pobla de Lillet side is the least busy of the two. The La Pobla de Lillet slope is completely covered by a thick forest, which makes it ideal for hot summer days. It is a very constant climb until the last final ramp. The Guardiola de Berguedà slope is harder, with stronger kms and ramps, although also with more breaks. It is clearly exposed to the sun and the wind in almost its entirety.

This pass has its hardest slope from Guardiola de Berguerdà, with a length of almost eight kilometers and a second half in which there are many ramps above 10%, reaching in some cases 15%. From La Pobla de Lillet the ascent is shorter, six kilometers long, and with the last four kilometers quite hard, with a percentage close to 7.5% and with some ramps of up to 14%.

2월 16, 2023, Pedret Bridge
Dating back to 1286, this bridge helped improve communications between Berga and the monastery of Sant Pere de la Portella. At first the bridge was made of wood, but a short time later it was rebuilt in stone and in the Gothic style. The central ogive as seen now was added in the 15th century. This bridge is a magnificent example of medieval "cornered" or "donkey's back" bridges, with its central part raised, thus allowing a wider central arch that allows greater water flow. Three smaller ones are added to the sides, two to the right and one to the left, semicircular, somewhat irregular and lowered. The bridge has undergone repairs and reconstructions over time due to floods, and in the 17th and 18th centuries the road was paved with boulders and a stone railing was added.

Gothic bridge with a single arch and large dimensions, which rests on rectangular section pillars. It was built in the 14th century and restored for the last time in 1984, to consolidate and repair all the elements damaged by the passage of time. It is the oldest bridge that crosses the Llobregat river. Although its style is Gothic, it is believed that it was built on the remains of a previous bridge, probably Roman.

Abandoned village in Fígols, in the Berguedà region. It is about 1,600 meters above sea level, at the head of the Peguera valley. Its depopulation is due to the abandonment of the Fígols mines. Above the houses is the rock of Peguera, where the castle of Peguera was, which from 1390 was the center of the Barony of Peguera.

10월 24, 2022, Pedret Bridge
The Pedret Bridge is a bridge of about 80 m in length, of medieval origin, over the Llobregat river. It served to unite the town of Berga with the church of Sant Quirze de Pedret and is documented in the year 1286. It is in the Gothic style and consists of four arches, although initially it had five, of unequal sizes: the central arch is pointed and much higher than the others, the rest are smaller, two semicircular, lowered, and a third pointed arch. Near the bridge, and dug into the rock, there is a series of rounded holes that correspond to the sockets of the wooden beams that supported an old Romanesque bridge. It is advisable to go up the old path nearby that leads to the church of Sant Quirze de Pedret, and visit it. It is one of the best preserved examples of pre-Romanesque religious architecture in Catalonia, built in the Carolingian period (9th-10th centuries).

Located at an altitude of 1600 meters, Peguera is an abandoned village that belongs to the municipality of Fígols. The years of maximum activity were experienced at the end of the 19th century and until the middle of the 20th thanks to the strong mining activity. The abandonment of the coal mines, however, accentuated the depopulation of Peguera until leaving it in its current state where most of the houses are in a dilapidated state. In 1968, the last inhabited house, Cal Penjorell, was closed. In 1908, one of the best-known Catalan maquis was born in Cal Peron, Ramon Vila Capdevila "Caracremada". Above the houses is the Roc de Peguera where there was the Castle of Peguera which from 1390 was the center of the Barony of Peguera. The Church of Sant Miquel, of Romanesque origin, is another landmark along with the Ensija mountain range, to the north, and the Rasos de Peguera, to the south, the first place where skiing was practiced in Catalonia towards the beginning of the 19th century.

6월 13, 2022, Pedret Bridge
The Pedret Bridge is a medieval bridge over the Llobregat river, in the municipality of Cercs, three kilometers from the center of Berga. The bridge and the holes underneath are two works included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia independently. Under the Gothic bridge of Pedret there are a large number of holes that correspond to different medieval constructions. A first series of thirty holes placed parallel and crossing the river on both sides. They could be the holes into which the beams supporting a wooden bridge built in the Romanesque period were fitted. A little further away from this first clearly differentiated group, we find another series of 12, 51 and 22 more holes that seem to correspond to one confined to a medieval mill from the late 10th century or early 11th century. They were used to house the beams of a rustic wooden lock. Near these holes there are remains of what should have been a canalization or irrigation. In this place there was a flour mill in the 17th and 18th centuries, of which there are no remains today because the successive railway works have destroyed them.

It is the oldest of the bridges that currently cross the Llobregat. Save the gap between Carrer Regatell and the B-402 road, from Guardiola de Berguedà to Ripoll. This bridge of singular characteristics, gives to the town a seal of particularitity. It currently has a single large archway. Some historians assume that this bridge consisted of more than one arch. The vault of the arch is made of irregularly worked stone which, when turned to form the arch, is arranged in a sardine pattern. The sole or box of the bridge goes down two slopes: one is steep and is offset by steps that end in a staircase that leads to the road; the other, much smoother, connects with the street on the opposite bank. It has a pavement of pebbles smaller than those of the walls.

Beautiful ascent from Santa Julià or from the detour of the Pobla de L’illet road. Some hard km that makes it more interesting.
