As pretty at the top as at the bottom, lots of ways to get to the top, accessible for all levels (not technical but lots of elevation gain depending on your starting point) but it's worth it!

The highest peak of the Vercors is very easy to cross. A little more exposed from the north, but without any real climbing spots, and even easier terrain from the south. Great panoramic views and into the distance - but particularly impressive from some places directly into the almost vertical eastern flank, which stretches over the entire chain in a slight curve to the Grande Moucherolle (the second highest peak) and beyond. And there were plenty of ibexes on my tour too.

Stunning 360 degree view!! The fauna is very present (marmots and ibexes...), stay as much as possible on the main paths in order to limit disturbance as much as possible.

The fountain tray is full but nothing is flowing from the pipe on September 24, 2019. You have to try to find out before you leave because you can really run out of water on the Vercors plateaus!

This refuge is ideally located for those wishing to do the Grande Traversée du Vercors (GTV). The refuge is located at an altitude of 1629 m and can accommodate around ten people upstairs (provide a small mattress). It is equipped with a stove, a table, two benches and to fill up with water, you have to walk a little over a kilometer (the Fountain of Play). We couldn't fill our water bottles, the trickle of water was much too weak! On the other hand, we benefited from the lodging for us all alone, it was very quiet!! The plain in which it is located is magnificent and exudes tranquility.

Surrounded by the peaks of Roche Rousse and Pierre Blanche, Le Grand Veymont looms in front of you on your left, the highest point of the Vercors at 2341 meters above sea level.
