Zahara is a nice village, but nothing more. There's not much to do (out of season, when we were there). The streets in Zahara are challenging, both for driving and walking.

Amazing views over the valley of Algodonales

Viaduct of 237 meters long, built by means of truncated pyramidal pilasters with a rectangular plan with mortared bluestones. It consists of 9 openings, eight of which are the same, and the fourth (counting from the station) with a larger arch. It is the longest viaduct of the nature trail, built to cross the junction with the Guadalporcún River.

Viaduct of 83 meters long, built by means of truncated pyramidal pilasters with a rectangular plan with mortared bluestones. Formed by the repetition of 5 equal openings. It was designed and built to save a deep ravine dug by a tributary of the Guadalporcún River.

Railway tunnel no. 22 of the Sierra Greenway Nature Trail. Located 407 meters from the previous tunnel, it is 196 meters long and has no artificial lighting, so a flashlight is recommended. This tunnel is excavated in the side of a clayey hill. At the tunnel exit, there is an impressive specimen of the carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua). Because it has been cultivated since ancient times (the Roman writer Columela referred to its use in 42 BC), it is difficult to determine its natural limits. Many botanists doubt that it is native to the Iberian Peninsula and believe it originates from the eastern Mediterranean basin.

Railway tunnel no. 23 of the Sierra Greenway Nature Trail. Located 923 meters from the previous tunnel, it is 125 meters long and has no artificial lighting, so a flashlight is recommended. This tunnel is excavated into the side of a clay hill.

The Mirador de Levante is located at the top of the Sierra de Líjar, in Algodonales, Cádiz. This viewpoint offers stunning panoramic views of the natural surroundings, including the town of Zahara de la Sierra and its reservoir, the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, and Algodonales itself. From the viewpoint, you can admire spectacular views of the surrounding landscapes, including the Peña de los Enamorados de Antequera and, on clear days, as far as the Sierra Nevada.
